Our aim at seeChange is to support you in finding the missing piece to YOUR puzzle. Your pieces are all there, it can just be challenging locating them at times. We use a range of evidence based therapeutic based interventions to support you putting your puzzle together with new and improved pieces.  

Our most widely used approach is using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). CBT aims to show people how their thinking affects their behaviour and mood. CBT teaches people to think in a less negative (and more 'realistic') way about life and themselves. You will learn how to change unhelpful or unhealthy thinking habits, feelings and behaviours. Other therapies which may be utilised to ensure greatest therapeutic outcomes include Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy.

We focus on individual and family therapy across the lifespan. 
 

As adults and older adults we are faced with confounding factors from our past, present and future that can significantly impact on our day to day functioning. In order to function at your optimal level personally, professional or within a relationship it is fundamental that you recognise stressors in your life and develop strategies to cope with them. 

Child and Adolescent psychology involves looking at the issues, stages and various influences that a child experiences throughout their development into functioning adults. We consider environmental and biological factors which may be contributing to issues affecting mental health and wellbeing.  

Adolescents are faced with a world of possibilities, opportunities and choices, and the biggest challenge can be finding their place in the world. The transition from childhood to adulthood can lead to a variety of emotional and behavioural problems that may cause upheaval for the entire family. For parents, finding the right balance between protecting your child and helping them become independent can feel like an emotional rollercoaster ride. Often the guidance and perspective of an experienced psychologist can help set both child and parent on the right course.

When working with families, we draw on best practice, evidence-based approach as well as information from parents, the young person and referring sources in order to establish clear therapeutic goals for successful intervention.
